An independent practice, by choice.
The reasons radiologists join RPA — and stay for a career — come down to four things that are increasingly hard to find together in one group.
Partner or employed — your choice
RPA is owned and governed by its radiologists, with no private equity behind us. Want a stake in that? Our partnership track leads to full shareholder status and an equal vote. Want flexibility instead? We hire employed radiologists too — W-2 or 1099 — with schedules built around your life, onsite or remote.
AI-assisted, and a colleague always a call away
AI-assisted impressions are part of daily reading here, taking the drudgery out of the report. Every radiologist has a direct line to the rest of the group, so a tough case is one call from a second opinion — and our tools are shaped by a practicing radiologist-informaticist, not handed down by a distant corporate IT.
Lead and grow — not just clear the list
At RPA your read is the final word, and your judgment shapes how the group practices. We run an active quality program, put radiologists in genuine leadership across the hospitals we serve, and back you to deepen a subspecialty focus and grow into division leadership. It's the influence — and ownership of your own work — you don't get as one more reader in a national pool.
Work hard, then actually live
Our founders built RPA on a simple idea: work hard, do excellent work, then play hard and enjoy life. Flexible schedules and remote-capable reading make that real, and regular get-togethers and an easy, collegial culture make this a group people like being part of — whether you're down the road or across the country.
A half-century of reading the Mountain State.

Who we're looking for
We recruit BC/BE radiologists of two kinds: fellowship-trained subspecialists, and what we call comprehensive radiologists — the versatile readers who move confidently across modalities and form the backbone of a hospital practice. We welcome radiologists at every career stage, from fellows finishing training to seasoned attendings looking for a better home.
RPA reads for hospitals, outpatient centers, and physician offices across a wide swath of West Virginia. Our radiologists weigh in on protocols and quality, help shape where the group is headed, and have a genuine voice in how it practices — the kind of input you only get when the people reading the cases also run the place. If you value independence, transparency, and a healthy group culture, you'll fit here.
Onsite, hybrid, and fully remote arrangements are all on the table depending on subspecialty and site needs — let's talk about what works for you.

We grow by adding excellent people, not just filling slots. If you're a board-certified or board-eligible radiologist curious about an independent, physician-owned future, we'd like to meet you.
Two tracks. One independent group.
Come as a partner building toward ownership, or as an employed radiologist who wants flexibility — the path is yours, and the core package supports a long career either way. Specifics are shared during the interview.
Partnership track
For radiologists who want a stake in the practice they read for, not just a salary.
- Defined path to full shareholder status
- Equal vote and an equal say in the group's direction
- Share in the upside of a practice you help own
- A long-term home in an independent group
Employed track
For radiologists who want a great schedule and a well-run group, without the partnership commitment.
- W-2 or 1099, whichever fits your situation
- Flexible blocks like 7-on / 7-off
- 7-on / 14-off rotations for evenings and nights
- Onsite or fully remote, by subspecialty and site
Deeper than the usual benefits list — fully paid malpractice, two retirement vehicles, and optional own-specialty disability are just the highlights.
Competitive compensation
Market-competitive pay that grows with the practice — with ownership upside on the partner track.
Paid malpractice coverage
Professional liability coverage handled by the group, so you can focus on reading.
Retirement with contribution
A retirement plan with group contribution and tax-advantaged savings.
Cash balance / defined-benefit plan
A defined-benefit cash balance plan alongside the standard plan — a tax-efficient way to build retirement savings well beyond the usual contribution limits.
Health insurance & HSA
Comprehensive medical coverage for you and your family, with a health savings account (HSA) option.
Disability coverage
Group short- and long-term disability, with the option to stack your own-specialty (own-occupation) coverage on top through our carriers — protecting your income if you ever can't read.
CME allowance & expenses
Annual CME and professional-expense support to keep your edge sharp.
Relocation support
Relocation assistance to help you and your family land comfortably — if you're moving to us.
A place you can actually afford to enjoy.
RPA's radiologists are based in and around Morgantown and Bridgeport, in the heart of north-central West Virginia — a region where a physician's income goes remarkably far.
Your salary, further
Some of the most affordable real estate and lowest cost of living of any metro region in the country — the kind of math that lets a single income buy a real home and real margin.
Mountains out the door
Rivers, rail-trails, climbing at Coopers Rock, lakes, and skiing within easy reach. Four real seasons and weekends that don't require an airport.
Roots, not just a stop
A college town's energy, strong schools, short commutes, and tight-knit communities — and the cities of Pittsburgh, Columbus, and D.C. all within a comfortable drive.
